While we hope everyone is busy having some good old fashioned summer fun,

we thought it may be a good time to remind you of a few things that you should

do to keep your home in tip-top shape this summer.

Here are L&L home's 6 seasonal Summer Homeowner Tips.

1) Wash the exterior of your home

Not only is a dirty house unsightly but leaving dirt, sap and even mold to accululate on your house can significantly impact the lifespan and health of your home's exterior.

2) Clean the gutters

Don’t let buildup collect in your gutters. Heavy rains this time of year are filling those gutters up with debris. We are installing a no-maintenance system this year so our gutters will remain

debris-free (which will be a first!)

3) Window check

Make sure you’re not paying for air conditioning that is just leaking right out of your home through cracked window sealant. This is a great time of year to go around the house and check those sealants to ensure that windows are secure both from the inside + out.

4) Roof check

Do a roof check to be sure the crazy winds we have been having with these storms didn’t affect your shingles. Check for loose or torn roof shingles and get them repaired ASAP to prevent water damage and other costly repairs down the line. You'll be glad you did!

5) Spray for bugs

Carpenter bees are huge this year (no pun intended) around our area. Not spraying for these can be a huge mistake because they can cause significant damage if left untreated. There are many pet-safe and eco-friendly companies so do your research!

6) Replace your HVAC filter

Give your AC unit a break by replacing your filter. Haven’t gotten your AC checked in a while? Now is a good time to call for an appointment –

before its 100 degrees with 100% humidity and you’re left with a fan, wondering why you hadn’t made an appointment sooner.
