As I have probably mentioned, I prefer to use glass containers to store leftovers, but sometimes I need to use a plastic one. I hate the way they pick up the smell of garlic etc. and they sometimes have a funny smell even after thoroughly washing them. So, when I heard about this hack, I had to try it.

You simply crumple up some newspapers, place them in the container, and put the lid on. After a few days the newspaper will absorb the odor so just wash the container with hot water and a bit of baking soda and it's back to new. No more cookies tasting like spaghetti sauce!
