You all know how I feel about our military after reading my posts on this type of holiday. I am proud that both of my grandfathers fought in WWII and that my father and my uncles have served time as well. I also have a very close friend who served in the military along with many other people that I know.

I'm sure lots of you have either served or have a family member or friend who have been or are in the military. Hugs to all of you!

Do you know the difference between Memorial Day and today? On Memorial Day we honor those who died while serving their country, and today we honor both the living and the dead military personnel.

The date November 11 was chosen as the date we celebrate because it coincides with the end of World War I which occurred at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

Military missions don't always involve war. Nearly a quarter of the veterans living in America today serve or served during peacetime. Their duties include protecting

U.S. embassies, providing natural disaster relief, and bringing medical assistance to impoverished communities.

So when you get a chance say "Thank You for Your Service". It's the right thing to do and you may make someone's day!
