Sure there might be a few Real Estate Agents who might help talk you into buying a more expensive house than you can afford so their commission is a bit higher, but most Agents want you to enjoy your home and still be in a comfortable financial position.
I am the kind of Agent who will steer you in the right direction. It's easy to fall in love with homes that might stretch your budget, but overextending yourself can lead to regret and worse, it can put you at higher risk of losing your home if you fall on tough financial times.
Some people forget that they will need a vacation at some point, or maybe want a new car, or new furnishings, or possibly even an unexpected baby comes into the picture. Your emotions really can take over when you find what you think of as the "perfect home". It's not perfect if you can't do other things that you love in life and you become "house poor".
What to do instead: Focus on what monthly payment you can afford rather than fixating on the maximum loan amount you qualify for. Just because you can qualify for a $300,000 loan, that doesn't mean you can afford the monthly payments that come with it. Factor in your other obligations that don't show on a credit report when determining how much you can afford. Believe me you will be much happier when you think about it this way!
I can help you find the house that both fits your budget and your lifestyle. There is a house that will be a perfect fit and I'm here for you! Give me a call when you're ready to make the next step and let's do this together! 630-280-9378
